ART OF WORDS: Poets’ Open Mic

Co-hosts Tamell “Big” Bailey and CathyB welcome featured poet Cathy Bohannon to the ACPL!

This monthly event is a great opportunity for adults and young adults to practice performance skills in front of a small audience, receive feedback, and get inspiration for creating new performance pieces.

About this month’s featured performer:
Cathy Bohannon, otherwise known by her stage name “Sweet Storm,” is a Spoken Word Poet. She has been blessed to perform poetry in over eight states and three countries. Cathy believes her purpose is to show the beauty in facing one’s fears and overcoming hardships. Accolades include being an MC of the Electric Collective an open mic based out of Junction City, Kansas, featuring at ONE MIC in Salina, Kansas, Sunday Sanctuary in Lawrence Kansas and Midwest Wordfest in Kansas City, Missouri. Her ultimate reward as a spoken word artist is to show people they are not alone and to be the spark in someone else’s beginning!

Open mic signup begins at 5:30PM on the event day (a 5-minute max performance)
The show starts at 6:00 PM in the first-floor meeting room
The suggested theme for this month is “STRENGTH”
