BEING Heard Workshop: Poetry & Community, with Al Black

Learn why hosting poetry events and performing poetry builds community and heals in ways that are different from “simply” writing and publishing poetry. Presenter Al Black writes poetry, hosts workshops, and since 2010 has hosted over 1,000 poetry/music events in the midlands of South Carolina. Among other accomplishments and activities, he is the founder and host of Mind Gravy Poetry, which meets weekly on Wednesday evenings in Columbia, SC.

Participants are encouraged to bring printed copies of 1 to 3 poems to share.
