LTAI Movie: The World Made Straight (R)

Let's Talk About It

The World Made StraightThe World Made Straight is the third of four films to be presented as part of the discussion series, LET’S TALK ABOUT IT — SOUTH CAROLINA WRITERS ON PAGE AND SCREEN (LTAI). Led by a USC-Aiken humanities scholar, LTAI is more than your average book club. Participants will read, watch, and then compare four novels to their film adaptations.

Actors Noah Wyle, Jeremy Irvine, Haley Joel Osment, and Minka Kelly appear as the main characters in this film based on the novel by SC author Ron Rash. The movie was produced in 2015.

Set in a rural community heavy with a dark past and dangerous present, the film follows a rebellious young man, Travis, as he struggles to decide between the dark path he is on and the chance at a new life.

This program is for adults 18 and older. Books are first come, first served. Call the Reference Desk for more information.
LTAI Movie viewings are in the 1st floor meeting room.

Made possible by a grant from SC Humanities and funding from the Friends of the Library.
