We asked library patrons to vote for their favorite animal at 13 library locations. One penny equaled one vote.

The system wide results are in:
Dogs= 8,982 votes
Cats= 7,518 votes

In total our library patrons raised $165! Each county shelter received the votes raised by the libraries in their county. Cats vs Dogs was a part of our summer reading program, “Every Hero Has a Story.” Our goal was to show kids that small acts of kindness have a pawsitive outcome!

Pete the Cat and Clifford the Dog volunteered to carry all those pennies to the Aiken County Animal Shelter and present them to FOTAS (Friends of the Animal Shelter). They stayed to take a tour. Click the picture or the headline for a slideshow of Pete and Clifford's tour
